Restart MediaPortal when computer resumes from sleep.

HTPC, MediaPortal Add comments

I hade problems with MediaPortal client crashing when the computer resumed from sleep some times. Here is a solution that restart the MediaPortal client every time the computer resumes from sleep with the restart.vbs script that is provided with the MediaPortal installation. This is done with a Scheduled Task and here is how.

First open Task Scheduler. I like to have thins organized so I create a folder named MediaPortal.

Go to the newly created folder and click “Create Basic Task…”

Program/Script: C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe
Add arguments: restart.vbs
Start in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal (This must be the installion folder of your MediaPortal client where the restart.vbs is located)

Just click finish and you are done.

Now the MediaPortal client will be restarted if previously started or if not started it will be started after every resume.
